Downtown Sprints

Friday Aug 12th, 2011 - Racing starts at 6:00pm

Kicking off the weekend, the Downtown Sprints, excite the evening of Friday, August 12th. This race will display the fast and furious riders as they sprint right through downtown for one Traverse City block during Friday Night Live. The finish line is on Front Street and the racers will be competing to win three big screen TV’s donated by Max’s Service.

Volunteers Needed

Start

The start line will be on the corner of State and Cass St. Down Town Traverse City. The racers will stage in the parking lot just to the south of the Omelette Shop Restaurant. The start will be a raised platform ramp and sprinters will be able to start in their pedals.

Finish

The finish line for the sprints will be in the crossing of Front Street and Cass. There will be an anounning stage agacnet to the finish line so spectators and racers will be able to hear and see the action.

Race-side Viewing

Will be available on the East and West side of Cass From State Street to Front.

Packet Pick Up

Friday registration and packet pick up will be available at the sprint starting line on friday night from 5:00-8pm at Down Town Traverse City.

Third Coast Bicycle Festival

The Downtown Sprints are taking place during Friday Night Live and are part of the Third Coast Bicycle Festival Week of cycling events. In addition to the fast paced sprinting action there will be Kids Events, Trial Demonstrations, Fixed Gear Events, BMX freestyle ramps and much more.

Note: Fix gear bikes must have a (at least) a front break.
